How To Sublimate A Cap – Step By Step Guide

STEP 1: Designing

Start by selecting a ready-to-use template or customize a design whatever you like. For designing, you can use any photo editing software to add text, graphics, and images. People usually sublimate quotes and texts on their caps, as well as logos.

STEP 2: Printing

Once you’ve created your design, you need to set up your printer. If you have a regular printer and you want to convert it to a sublimation printer, follow these easy steps. For best results, make sure you are using sublimation paper and sublimation ink. If you use normal ink or paper, you might not get high-quality results.

STEP 3: Remove moisture and wrinkles:

It is advisable to pre-press the cap using an Easy Heat Press machine to remove wrinkles and moisture before sublimating. Adjust the cap around the pedestal, cover it with a Teflon sheet, and press for one minute.

STEP 4: Remove excess fiber:

With the tint roller, remove any excess fiber. Don’t forget this step! This will prevent sublimation designs from cracking.

STEP 5: Press it with Easy Heat Press

Now the cap is ready for sublimation, place the printed design over the cap and shield it with Teflon or a piece of protective paper. Make sure it stays in place by sealing it with heat-resistant tape. Set the time, temperature, and pressure of the Easy heat press machine, then press again.

Final Step: Open the press after your timer is done. Let it cool down for a while for a successful transfer. Then gradually remove the tape. Voila! Your design is sublimated.
